Story Board Project 1
Really short topic animation. Write a short paragraph describing your idea or steal one of the ones below. Create 8-12 boards driven by audio events. The story should be short and easy visualize and animate. These story board will become the blueprints for the rest of the project. It should also contain some type of change in enviroment change (ie inside to outside). Final Length should be between 30 and 120 seconds. Keep the drawings fairly simple as you will be scanning and animating the later. Simple line drawings will suffice.
Things to keep in mind
- Avoid dialog: we don't have time to record it
- Camera angles: Keep them simple moving foreground static background. Moving perspective is much harder to animate.
- Use distance to separate animation elements and help keep animation simple.
Examples
- Catch the bus
- A person standing on a city street waiting at a bus stop. Somewhat nervous they check their watch and then look for the bus. The bus arrives and you hear the bus engine and the bus brakes. The the bus doors open. The person enters the bus. Fade on bus sound of bus driving away.
- Ride the elevator
- A person is looking a the up/down button for the elevator in an office building. The press the down button and wait. The down arrow lights and the elevator dings. The person enters the elevator and hears wicked cool elevator music and the selects a floor. Elevator moves slow at first then faster and faster. Scream fade to black and hear a giant crash.
Catch the bus audio events.
- 1st person perspective Look at watch: Establishing sound: city street fade in ticking/rain
- 1st Look at road and rain: street sounds and rain
- 1st Look at watch: mix in ticking
- 1st Look at steet: more rain bus motor in distance bus gets louder
- Overhead shot of bus stopping: bus motor louder
- 1st person bus pull in front loud stopping and engine noise: bus motor louder and bus brakes
- 1st Bus doors open: bus door
- Overhead person enters bus: bus motor inside, rain inside, people inside fade as bus motor starts again.
