Surround Sound Authoring

  • There's a forum post about getting good volume levels when using free AC3 encoders.
  • It looks like development on both of the GUIs for Aften have stopped, so I can only find that version. It worked fine for me, but if we want to be more up to date we could probably hack the latest Aften build together with the last GUI build. AftenGui Builds
  • I was looking to see if there was anything comparable to dvd styler for blu ray yet, the only link I found worth looking into free dvd authoring tools
  • There is a Roxio Blu Ray Authoring plug in
  • I just found this forum post to burn HD content on DVD discs that will work in many Console Blu Ray Players. Now that's something that should be worked into the video curriculum. It looks like AC3 is supported as audio so that could do 5.1, still haven't found a way to do Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD.
  • This guide does HD on DVD for Blu Ray players with free software.
