AIM Class9
IAM Project 2 due
Class Goals
- Discuss design processes
- Walk through a sample design process with CSS

Advanced Design
Interaction Design
Review how designing an interactive piece differs from designing a static or expositional piece
Although there are many websites online, very few of them are actually interactive. Interactivity is not simply allowing a person to click on something (in fact, in some poorly designed cases this results in just "extra effort").
Levels of interaction
- Access to content
- Chooosing path through content
- Environmental changes
Information Architecture
IA definition, what it is, what it isn't
Users/content/context
User needs and behaviors (thinking about systems for users who don't know what they're looking for)
CSS Design
Advanced conceptual design using XHTML and CSS
Brainstorm cultural and critical theory topics on which to base a "Zen Garden" design.
Homework
