Spring 2013

New Intel iMacs will be replacing all the workstations in room 129.

New Intel Macs will be replacing all the Power PC G5s in rooms 122, 129, 139, 142.

Spring 2010

All Intel based Macs will be updated to OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard for Spring Semester 2010). This would be rooms, 129, 139, 142, (2) units in 122, and the theater, room 150.

A new deployment image will be made to turn off Spot Light and be replaced with another search tool.

If Spot Light is turned off, it completely disables the ability to use the OS's built in search tool. The disabling is needed to help deal with the issue of users experiencing permission issues when performing a "drag and drop".

Additional software:

• iLIfe + IWorks 09'
• Maya 2010 (only runs on Intel based units) You still have Maya 2009 loaded.
• Virex 9.0

Also, will make the usual updates to the various applications.

Fall 2009

Just the usual os/application updates will be applied. We are not migrating to OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) for the Fall of 2009.

Adobe Encore is in a 30 day trial mode, waiting for non e-license media. 08/16/07 Adobe Premiere CS3 is for intel-Macs only. Installed in Rooms 407 + 411, and half of 606.

Spotlight has been shut off due to a conflict with the SANS. (That means no file searching.) You can use the application EasyFind located in the Applications directory. I'm looking for a better solution.

Swap half of 606 with 423?

PPC - logout timeer not enabled. Delete "Recent Servers".
