Recording audio using the Tascam HD-P2 Cheat sheet
- Connect mic (external mic gives best sound)
- On mic, set at flat
- Takes AA batteries, use AC when possible
- Settings on top of deck
Set input to mic
Mic to external
Phantom to ON (powers mic - condenser needs power)
set pads to off
low cut to off
limiter to on
stereo link off
- Start w/ mic level at 5, phones level at 5 (detent position)
- Power on (L of screen)
- To record, press record
- Always wear headphones when recording
to download to computer
- use firewire cable in bag
- connect the two devices
- depress menu button
- use shuttle/data to move to the last option (mount media?)
- depress select
the tascam shows up as an external hard drive
- find the project (you unwittingly started a new one when you started recording)
and drag the files to your machine
OR
- Unmount the compact flash card and insert into card reader
