High Concept
The Thirst For Survival 2: Surviving Again! is a text based adventure game that can provide information about certain environments and how to survive in them. These environments include: Arctic, Desert, Jungle, and Wetlands. If a person were to find themselves stranded in one of these situations, this game could have helped with some common situations that may arise. Based on research, we have found the hazards and dangers that lie in wait in each of those environments, as well as food that can be found.
Treatment
These are examples of what can be found/encountered in our game.
When dealing with hazards, our game will give you options on how to avoid certain situations and treat others. For instance, if in the jungle environment and you receive a snake bite, the player may choose to keep going forward without making a tourniquet and quickly perish, or make one and perhaps reach a town in time. Or perhaps the player is in the Arctic and is losing heat, but happens to kill a wolf. The player can eat the meat of the wolf, and skin it for the fur to keep warm.
The player navigates a small map by choosing a direction they want to travel in. As the player enters each area of the map, they are greeted by a description of the surrounding area and possible actions they can take. If the player is careful they will not die and eventually find rescue or civilization. If the player dies during the simulation they must start over.
These are just examples, but this game will give players a glimpse into a dangerous world with the benefit of not actually being there. Should players ever find themselves in a situation where they are lost, if played, this game could potentially have saved their life.
