Room 605 5.1 Surround Sound Setup

Room 605 boasts a full 5.1 surround sound system, but a few extra steps are necessary to use it.

Checking the Speakers

Before you begin, check to make sure that all of the speakers are turned on.

Front and Center Speakers

Front speaker.

To turn on the front left, front right, and center speakers, press the silver Tannoy badge on the front.

Front speaker, turned off.

The light should turn from red...

Front speaker, turned on.

...to green.

If the light remains off, toggle the master power switch on the back of the unit. If the light still does not turn on, make sure the unit has not come unplugged.

Rear Speakers

Rear speaker, turned off.

To turn on the rear speakers...

Rear speaker power switch.

...press the power switch on the back of the unit.

Rear speaker, turned on.

The light on the front should turn blue.

If the light remains off, make sure the unit has not come unplugged.

Subwoofer

The subwoofer is passive and does not need to be turned on.

Configuring the Mixer

Step 1
Locate the "Display Access" panel on the mixer and press the "Scene" button until the "Scene Memory" screen appears on the LCD.

Step 2
Use the scroll wheel to navigate to scene 6: "rec Jefftqq."

Step 3
Locate the "Scene Memory" control panel and press the "Recall" button.

Testing the Output and Configuring Applications

The mixer is now configured for 5.1, but individual application settings may need to be adjusted to output in 5.1. Check the preferences/options panel of your application or consult its documentation to determine if this is necessary.
