Due: War Memorial

War memorials are part of the visual landscape. Design a war memorial or a modification to an existing one. Create a visualization of the work and an explanation/artist’s statement about it. Consider the relationship of the hero or representative to the masses, the representation vs. the symbol, the lasting vs. the ephemeral.

• In talking about your design, answer these questions:

• What does the work memorialize?

• Does it deal with an individual, an individual representation of many, an idea?

• Does it express a belief or attitude toward the subject?
