Using XML to structure elements of a domain (Menu)

Elements of a domain can be structured in many different ways. The best solution will depend on many factors (such as the domain itself, culture, history, standards, etc.).

Let's look at a simple example. How would you structure a menu?

Step One: Take an unstructured menu (just a list of items) and organize it into a simple structure. Create the structure as an outline in a word processing program and save it to your in-class folder. Upload and link this from your class portfolio. Include a brief description about how you approached the assignment and structured the menu.

Step Two: Translate the outline you created into a DTD.

Step Three: Create an XML file.

Step Four: Create a CSS file that styles your XML document.

Step Five: Upload the xml, dtd, and css files.

Step Six: Link your xml file from your class portfolio (with the structure and the description you created previously).
