Congratulations to all of the participants in the first-ever IAM Summer Challenge, including the Grand Prize Winners, Team Awesome Pirates!

About the IAM Summer Challenge

The IAM Summer Challenge is a new program where students use their skills in interactive and game design to create engaging projects used for research and education. This year, IAM collaborated with paleontologist Dr. Robin Whatley to develop a concept for the challenge. Using a dataset of endangered species from the Illinois Natural Heritage Database teams were challenged to create an interactive project that allowed people to interact with the data and develop a deeper understanding how endangered species and their habitats are affected by humans.

Judges

Matt Board and Philip Nadasdy from IAM were joined by guest judges Kelly Anderson (IAM alum) from Mediafly and Dr. Robin Whatley to review and judge the entries.
