Women in Games

For the most part, I strongly agree with this article. As the video game industry as financially passed the film industry, and as more and more people are buying video games, it is extremely important to hear the voices of women in the industry. It is important to have strong female characters as well. What I did disagree with however, was representing women’s “tastes.” I have been playing video games for a long time, and I have always liked and played the same games as all of my male friends. I am actually not quite sure what a woman’s taste would be. Going back to one of my previous entries, we do not need games designed for women that are all horses and flowers, but with strong female role models. I like to run around and kill people in video games just as much as the next guy (or gal) and I would hate to see a divided community where men and women, boys and girls, were playing two totally different kinds of video games.
