Dr. Steven Novella

Calvin, shifty and clever lad that he is, got in touch with well known blogger, podcaster and skeptic Dr. Steven Novella, assistant professor and Director of General Neurology at Yale University School of Medicine.

We wanted to bounce a few questions that we normally would hash out on the show against someone that we thought could bring a new perspective to the discussion of topics like gaming addiction, behavioral effects of gaming, games as therapy and teaching tools…and boy were we right.

We had an amazing time talking to Dr. Novella, so please listen in and tell us what you think!  To hear more from Dr. Novella, and listen to his podcast, head over to The Skeptics’ Guide to the Universe. Also, Dr. Novella appeared on Penn and Teller’s BULLSHIT! Season 3 episode “Ghostbusters!”  Give it a watch!

Thanks again to Calvin for setting up the interview, and Dr. Novella for talking some time to come talk to us!

An addict
We may know there's no chemical addiction, but video games do trigger the same responses as processes like gambling. If there was a way to make that type of addiction chemical as out.

Remember to send us comment and questions!
